Jingyun He (“Jenny”) began her studies in Mu’s lab since Sep 2024 and then became a final year project student from Sep 2025 to April 2026. She was also studying biostatistics as an exchange student at the University of Waterloo and volunteering at The Hospital for Sick Children. Her research interests are focused on rare diseases through genetics. Jenny’s final year project is “A RAG-Enhanced Fine-tuned DeepSeek Model for Rare Disease Diagnosis: Integrating Vector Retrieval with Domain-Specific Language Models”.
